Taylor + Taylor | Legacy Event Center Wedding in Lubbock, Texas

Taylor and Taylor got married in a traditional, elegant wedding at Legacy Event Center in Lubbock, Texas on a perfect spring day. Yes, the bride and groom have the same name and now they have both the same first and last name. However, friends and family use the nicknames “Big Taylor” and “Little Taylor” to differentiate the two. Adorable is an understatement.

Kayce | Ethereal Palo Duro Canyon Bridal Session

I get pretty attached to my clients and Kayce is no exception. Since she lives in Fort Worth, the first time I met her in person was during her bridal session in Palo Duro Canyon - where her wedding also was. I instantly liked her. And her wedding last weekend ended up being one of my all time favorites for many reasons but mostly because the people there were awesome. Not only were Kayce and her now husband Conner so amazing, nice, and relaxed but their wedding party was perfect as well!

Sheridan + Jerry | Springtime Lubbock, Texas Engagement Photos

I knew I liked Sheridan and Jerry from day one. We met back in the fall when they booked me for their July 2017 wedding. The moment that Sheridan pulled out her wedding planning notebook was the moment that I knew I had found an ideal client and kindred spirit. She was so organized and on the ball! Being super Type A myself, it's fun to work with people that think like I do.

Celia + Blake | Springtime Engagement Photos in the Texas Panhandle

This engagement session just screams spring and I love it so much! Celia and Blake met in high school in their small town of Perryton, Texas. Now, 8 years later, they're engaged and they're getting married at the Resplendent Garden this summer (I, for one, can't wait for it!). Clearly, these two just work together. It's easy to see that they've been together a long time and they know each other well.

Ashley + John | Early Spring Engagement Photos at Texas Tech

I'm so glad that Ashley, John, and I were finally able to meet up and do their engagement session! I say "finally" because all of us kept switching the date back and forth. We couldn't seem to find a date that stuck due to weather, work schedules, my shooting schedule, etc. But finally! We made it work and it was so worth it.

Alyssa + Patrick | Palo Duro Canyon Engagement Photos

These two adorable people have spent six years together (four of which were long distance) and they are now getting married later this year.  They are so amazing together and they are as sweet as they look. Their engagement session in Palo Duro Canyon was full of real laughter (my favorite!) and lots of cuddling for warmth. Though it was a breezy, crisp January day, their smiles are what make the pictures look warm.

Aleecya + Kyle | Downtown Amarillo & Palo Duro Canyon Engagement Session

Aleecya and Kyle's engagement session was one big giggle fest. Aleecya warned me before her session that her fiance, Kyle, was "not much of a picture guy." But I promised her that I would make them feel comfortable and rarely would I have them just staring at the camera. So I made them kiss and do silly things and the two of them were pretty much laughing the entire time we were downtown.

What you should know about my personality before hiring me

People who are searching for a photographer - for whatever reason (weddings, family pictures, etc.) - have a lot of choices. It’s a saturated market so I fully believe that clients should choose a photographer by looking at all of the factors: price, quality of work, style, past reviews, print options, among others. Another factor to consider is the photographer’s personality, especially if it’s for a wedding day. If you’re going to be spending an extended amount of time with someone, you will want to actually like them!

Wedding Day Timeline Tips from a Wedding Photographer

Nothing can have a more drastic effect on a wedding day (negative or positive) than the way the timeline is laid out - and whether or not that timeline is adhered to. As a wedding photographer, I have seen first hand how a well-planned, spacious timeline allows me to create great photos and allows the bride and groom room to relax and breathe. I have also seen how cramped timelines that are more of an afterthought cause frenzied brides and grooms and missed photo opportunities.

Elise | Downtown Amarillo Senior Photo Session

Elise's senior photo session in downtown Amarillo has officially convinced me that winter is just as beautiful as all of the other seasons. I love the crisp cleanness of wintertime, the muted colors, and the softness. Of course, it doesn't hurt that Elise is a beautiful girl with the brightest blue eyes. She's a senior at Claude High School and she clearly has a heart of gold. She's headed to Midwestern State University after she graduates and though she doesn't know what she will study yet, I'm sure she'll be very successful.
