Just know that if you decide to book your engagement/wedding photos with me, I’m definitely going to make you hug, kiss, and cuddle, and I might even make you dance in the street or run down the road holding hands with each other. Fair warning! Madi and Mark were one of my most FUN couples to date! I never had to prompt them to laugh at each other or giggle. It was so natural for them. Their smiles, their hugs are genuine and they come from a place of pure love for each other. They are best friends. They went along with all of my crazy plans and had a great time while doing it.Read More
Ben and Kara are more than clients to me…they are friends. I met Ben seven years ago when I first started dating my husband, Mason. They have been friends for over a decade. Ben was a groomsman in our wedding and I am so happy that I get to be there when he and Kara have their wedding next June. I love these two and I couldn’t imagine a better fitting couple!Read More
What a lovely pair these two make! They didn’t let the surprise thunderstorm we experienced when we got to Palo Duro Canyon crush their spirits. And honestly, bring me all the thunderstorms! They bring about the craziest but most beautiful, unique light that I can imagine. It makes photos so personal and so out-of-the-norm. While we waited out the rain for 45 minutes in our car, I didn’t feel lucky but once it subsided and we started shooting again I became downright giddy.Read More
Oh how I love a good nose-crinkling laugh! And Aren and Leanna’s engagement photos in Palo Duro Canyon were chock full of ‘em. These cuties have been together for 7 years and they still smile and giggle as if they just started dating. Yet they are so comfortable together (and that’s a very good thing). Despite the heat, the bugs, and the wind (you know, everything the Texas Panhandle is known for) they never stopped smiling. It was so much fun to spend the day with them and I know their Lubbock wedding this fall is going to be just as awesome.Read More
These two have a unique story of how they met. Caitlin and Daniel met in high school when they worked at GameStop together. While Daniel likes video games, Caitlin just needed to make some money to pay her phone bill. Who knew a simple after school job would bring about their future spouse? They will be getting married in two years in Denver, Colorado at their dream wedding venue. For now, they don’t work at GameStop anymore but they still work together at another company. It’s easy to see that they are best friends <3Read More
Ahh, I love it when a couple just FITS together. You know what I mean? It’s easy, it’s relaxing, and it just works. That is the case with Ben and Tori. We had a little of that Texas Panhandle wind during their engagement photos but honestly, I think it helped. The way they fit naturally together and the way the wind blew her hair back gave us some pictures that I think were dynamic and real, but also quite timeless and romantic. Just lovely :)Read More
I think I may be the official photographer of the Amarillo Chin Christian Church! Haha
A few weeks ago I took pictures of two girls Ngun and Zing for their upcoming pageant this summer with the Burmese American community, all arranged by their friend, Par. (I can’t share those pictures until after the pageant). Well, Par gave me a call a couple weeks ago because Hla Hla and Samuel needed engagement pictures! I was so excited for the opportunity to work with them again because last time was such a wonderful experience.Read More
Abdi wanted a springtime feeling for her engagement photos with her fiancé Luis and I think we got it! These two came all the way from Hugoton, Kansas for their session and we had so much fun together. They are young but they have been together for 5 years and have known each other for a long time. Abdi told me it took her two years to say yes to Luis asking her out. But I’m guessing it was worth the wait for Luis because they are getting married this summer! It’s going to be so exciting for them to build their life together <3Read More
I finally found a green field to take pictures with in dry Amarillo, Texas! That is the holy grail. There’s no telling how long it will stay green but I will use it until the day it dries up. Haha. I always love pictures downtown but there’s something about going out into the country. I always feel like the wide, open spaces help people relax and be natural with each other - especially with engagement photos. You can get some of the real moments that I love. Bethany and Cody were troopers with the wind and the cold March air and they were so much fun to hang out with.Read More
I took pictures of Georgia when she turned three a couple of years ago and I was so happy to meet up with Laura and her fiance Cody again for engagement/family pictures in Palo Duro Canyon. I loved watching Cody and Georgia together and all of the inside jokes they have developed. She had on the cutest little yellow dress and he kept calling her his “mustard seed,” which she thought was awfully funny. They are such a sweet family and I’m so happy for this next chapter in their lives.Read More
This engagement session is a testament to the fact that sometimes rescheduling is a very good idea. Lisa and Justin’s original date ended up being a day with 40 mph winds (overturned trucks, blown over fences, and shingles ripped off roofs). Needless to say that would have been a terrible day for engagement photos.
Luckily, the day we rescheduled to was BEAUTIFUL. I had never been out to Boy’s Ranch before but I was so happy they decided to take their photos there. Sometimes it makes me nervous to shoot in new places but it can be so rewarding - especially when my clients decide to bring along their pets and horses! Which Lisa and Justin did. It can be challenging bringing animals into the mix but I always love the end result.Read More
Proposals are just the best because I get to keep a secret! Sure, I’m nervous the whole time and freaking out that I’m going to accidentally say something to give the secret away but it’s so much fun!
Weston contacted me a few weeks ago because he and his girlfriend were coming to Palo Duro Canyon for a vacation. He knew that he wanted to propose and he knew that Aubrey would love having pictures of the moment. So we hatched a plan. He told her that his mom wanted to get pictures of the two of them so she thought it was a regular photo session. All that changed when at the end, overlooking the canyon at sunset, Weston got down on one knee and proposed. Weston was nervous for weeks leading up to that moment but I’m sure it was worth it :)Read More
