Some of my Favorite Wedding Venues in Amarillo, Texas

The vast majority of the weddings that I have photographed over the past several years have taken place in my town of Amarillo, Texas. The area is rich with gorgeous wedding venues for every style of wedding imaginable: classic, industrial, traditional, casual, rustic, dreamy, etc. I have created this list of some of my favorite wedding venues to shoot at. Because what I do is visual, it’s obviously very important for the wedding venue to be beautiful and two of the most important wedding venue factors that help me take great wedding photos are: good light and available backdrops. All of the following venues are places I could photograph a thousand times and always be happy with how the pictures turn out.

The Coe Family | Breezy Late Fall Family Photos

Several years ago, I took family pictures of the Coe Family in Palo Duro Canyon - back when they had recently found out they were pregnant with the youngest member of the family. I loved getting to see them again before moving away from Amarillo. I’m a little disappointed that I found this amazing field right before having to leave Texas but when we move back one day, this will for sure be a prime location for pictures!

Ashlyn | College Senior Pictures at West Texas A&M University

Talk about killing it for her senior pictures! Ashlyn is graduating from West Texas A&M University this Spring. She took all of her classes online for her degree so this was actually her first time seeing the campus in person! I loved showing her around the pretty WTAMU grounds and taking her senior photos at all of the iconic locations.

Price | Senior Pictures at the Amarillo Country Club

We took a risk and shot Price’s senior photos on a windy day at the Amarillo Country Club where Price loves to play golf. Of course, wind is just par for the course in Amarillo (see what I did there?). Then we took a few more pictures downtown where Price channeled some major Matt Dillon in The Outsiders vibes. What a nice guy and a great model!

Neve | Springtime Birthday Pictures

I can’t believe Neve is three years old! She had her third birthday this past weekend and we celebrated with chocolate cake (which she did not eat - she’s a picky eater!) She did, however, eat the strawberries that were on top of it. She allowed me to take a few pictures of her in our front yard. Spring is my absolute favorite part of the year and Neve’s birthday makes this season even sweeter.

Jenna | Senior Pictures in Downtown Amarillo, Texas at Dusk

Jenna killed her senior photos! Her green eyes seriously popped in every single picture. She looked amazing downtown but I think she really came to life once we got out to a field just as the West Texas sun was going down past the horizon. Sometimes I feel like with wide open spaces, people feel more free and comfortable in front of the camera. She looked so beautiful!

Luke + Kennedy | Fall Wedding at The Venue in Amarillo

Like most 2020 couples, when Kennedy and Luke started planning their wedding, they had no idea what was in store. In the end, and after rescheduling just two days before their original wedding date, they were able to celebrate their wedding day just as they had planned surrounded by family and friends . Despite a wild snow storm the week of the wedding, the day was gorgeous and sunny. They got married at The Venue in Amarillo, Texas with a first look and portraits at a private residence. Kennedy wore a sleek, modern dress that wowed Luke when he saw her for the first time.

The McCurry's | Newborn Pictures at Home

Oh, how I looooove newborn pictures at home! Especially when there are older siblings involved. The McCurry’s welcomed their new baby daughter home and we took some snuggly sweet pictures on their bed and in their home. Their oldest loved kissing his new sister. It was so fun to capture these sweet moments as a family of four!

Kayla + Sam | Fall Family Photos in Wolflin

Clients’ homes are one of my all-time favorite places to pictures! Everyone is comfortable and happy and it’s such a meaningful place for them. Kayla and Sam and their pups have an adorable home in the Wolflin neighborhood in Amarillo, Texas and it was so fun to take some fall family photos for them.

Kalyn + Connor | Palo Duro Canyon Engagement Session

These two! Wow. I have all the heart eyes for Kalyn and Connor. They were so fun to meet and work with for their engagement pictures in Palo Duro Canyon this fall. Not only are they adorable together, but they are so comfortable and sweet with one another. Add those elements to Kalyn’s perfect choice in outfits and the canyon’s beautiful sunset and you’ve got a recipe for perfect engagement session!

Abby + John | Downtown Amarillo Engagement Session

Hotties, am I right?! But seriously, you’ll want to scroll all the way to the end on Abby and John’s engagement pictures because they really came alive near the end of the session. They were so comfortable, happy, and romantic in front of the camera and that makes my job easy. Also, Abby is wearing my favorite color: green! I love it.

Hollee + Andrew | Timeless and Classic Wedding at the Amarillo Club

Hollee and Andrew’s wedding day The Amarillo Club was not only beautiful, but it was meaningful. Hollee expressed to me in our first meeting that the most important part of her wedding day was going to be the moment her and Andrew got married. She wanted the day to be pretty, but mostly, she just wanted to get married.
