Sydney and Caden's wedding looked nothing like it was supposed to. As was the case for most 2020 brides, the pandemic had a drastic impact on the wedding they had planned. They planned to get married at their dream venue in Taos, New Mexico but unfortunately, New Mexico was tightly locked down. With their hometown of Amarillo, Texas more open, they decided at the last minute to move their wedding home.
Read MoreI loved this photo session! Which is the hardest thing ever with bridal photos since I have to wait forever to post them! Jaemi traveled from Austin to take pictures in Palo Duro Canyon in the springtime. There’s never a bad time to take pictures in the Canyon but spring is especially lovely because everything is just starting to come to life again after the winter. The light is soft and the colors are muted. Jaemi brought her dog along for her bridal photos which was totally amazing.
Read MoreAubry’s senior photos were so unique! She plays basketball at Tascosa High so she wore the most amazing dress she could find and paired it with her basketball shoes in the gym at her school. That’s so cool, right? Then, we went to a field to take some simple, classic senior pictures as the sun was setting. Aubry is gorgeous!

Sydney and Caden started out their engagement photos in downtown Amarillo, which is one of my favorite places to shoot in the winter and then we headed to Palo Duro Canyon where we were blessed with very little wind. If you’re from here you know that’s a miracle. These two are so natural together and their wedding in Taos, New Mexico this August is sure to be off-the-charts amazing.
Read MoreThe best word to describe Rebecca and Jake’s wedding was “simple.” From the lines in the eves of St. Paul’s chapel to Rebecca’s simple dress to the intimate dinner at Parma Ristorante in Lubbock, Rebecca and Jake focused on the most important things for their day. It was relaxed but elegant.
Read MoreThird time taking pictures of the Kennedy family and every time there’s been a new addition! I don’t mind though because their kids might be the most adorable humans on the planet. They should probably have like 5 more kids. We took their pictures at my studio because it was December and because mom really wanted simple, classic pictures of her family. I think the beauty of her little girls really shines through.
Read MoreI have really come to love extended family photos. They showcase so many generations in one photo and I think it’s something really special for families to have. Imagine 50 years from now when the littlest ones or the ones that aren’t even here yet will be able to look back and see their family at that time. It’s a keepsake that I love creating for people!
Read MoreI think this may be my new favorite location around Amarillo to pictures! I used to take pictures in fields a lot - and then they would get mowed down or No Trespassing signs would appear (oops, haha) and I finally found a field that I can always use that has grasses taller than people! I’m in love. But probably not as in love as Gabriel and Riley are with each other. They are getting married next year in Colorado and I have no doubt their wedding is going to be gorgeous.

That’s definitely how I felt while taking pictures of Kyler and Talyn. They were so natural together. After I posed them and told them what to do, they would just relax and be in the moment. Relaxation and naturalness vs. stiffness TOTALLY shows up in photos and I can do my best to make people feel comfortable but my clients have to meet me halfway. It matters a lot. Kyler and Talyn were amazing at this. They simply had fun and didn’t worry that there was a camera in front of them. That’s the only way to get great photos.
Read MoreI love that color and vibrancy are making a comeback! I love me some neutral tones once in a while but I need color to keep things interesting and the Lindsey family brought it. It didn’t hurt that Palo Duro Canyon was showing off its own colors that day due to recent rain. This family was so sweet and so beautiful!
Read MoreIf rain on your wedding day is good luck, then Mark and Madi are the luckiest people alive. I’ve never seen so much rain on a wedding day! I think it rained nonstop for 5 straight hours. It will certainly be a story to tell. Luckily, before the rain began, we were able to get pictures of Mark and his guys and Madi and her girls plus some of their family photos done. We were also able to get pictures of a sweet moment between Madi and Mark as they held hands, exchanged letters, and prayed without seeing each other.
They saw each other for the first time as Madi walked down the aisle and they said their vows as rain pattered the tin roof. It was a day to remember with sweet details and even sweeter moments.
