Aiden | Senior Photos in his Unique Amarillo Home

Aiden's senior photos are sure to be some of the most unique that I've done so far. He and family have spent the past two years remodeling their 108 year old home in Amarillo. This house is a gem that they have clearly put a lot of care and love into over the past couple of years. He and his mom Stacey invited me into their foyer and I was astounded. It was like stepping into the past and it was amazing to witness.

Crysta + Craig | Rustic and Elegant Autumn Wedding in Amarillo

Crysta and Craig have a quiet, soft sort of love that is a joy to witness. It’s easy to see why their families wanted to put together a beautiful and grand celebration of their marriage. They are clearly loved by a lot of people and it’s no mystery as to why. They are one of the sweetest couples that I have had the pleasure of working with and I would repeat their day over and over again.

Crysta | Amarillo Bridal Portraits

Crysta is one of the sweetest brides that I have ever had the pleasure of working with. She is soft spoken and lovely. Her lace wedding dress was classically elegant and perfect for her. We started her bridal portraits at the Amarillo Country Club, then we went to the Wolflin neighborhood. Finally, we found a gorgeous grassy country road to catch the last few rays of sunlight in the golden hour.

Heather + Dan | Classic Fall Wedding at Three Falls Cove

No, this wedding did not take place in the mountains of Colorado. Heather and Dan said "I do" in the hidden oasis that is Three Falls Cove on the edge of Lake Meredith on an overcast autumn day. Three Falls Cove is nestled in some of the tallest trees that you can find in West Texas and Heather and Dan's wedding style matched perfectly with the woodsy, earthy look.

Lauren | Autumn Bridal Photography Session

I just love the way that Lauren's bright red hair pops against the deep autumn colors of the Wolflin neighborhood in Amarillo, Texas. She is a vibrant and beautiful bride! As I've said, the hardest thing about bridal sessions is holding off on posting images until after the wedding and with Lauren, I had to wait over a month! It was hard but now that she's married and her husband has seen her in her gorgeous wedding dress, I can show her bridal shoot off to the world.

Samantha + Shane | Autumn Anniversary Photo Session

This fall anniversary session makes me want to cuddle up with a good book and some hot tea. But seriously. Aren't these two the cutest? Samantha and Shane recently moved to Amarillo from New Hampshire, where Samantha is from and where they got married last fall. Before they moved here, she had a plan to take one photo from each season of the first year of their marriage. She found me through one of my past clients and I am so glad she chose me to take their fall photo because meeting them and taking their anniversary photos has turned out to be one of my favorite shoots of the year.

Stacy + Zach | Trinity River Audubon Center Wedding | Dallas Wedding Photographer

Stacy and Zach planned the perfect wedding. Their Dallas affair at Trinity River Audubon Center is the perfect example of what happens when a bride carefully selects her vendors and then trusts them to execute her vision for her wedding day. The couple was able to enjoy their wedding day because they knew everything was taken care of.

Callie + Kyle | Palo Duro Canyon Engagement Photo Session

These two are a couple of my favorites. A lot of people ask me if I know my clients before they hire me and the answer is no 98% of the time. However, sometimes clients come along that I feel like I have known for a long time. Callie and Kyle are a couple of clients like that. Their engagement session went so smoothly and comfortably and I could have photographed them for a couple more hours easily - except without the mosquitos that literally ate me alive ;)

Quick Tip To Make Eyes Pop In Photos

I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t know much about makeup. However, I know a lot about photography. This isn’t so much a “do” but rather a “don’t.” There is one mistake that I see clients and those who dabble in makeup artistry make over and over again. It is something that may look alright on a person in real life but doesn’t look so great in photos.

Kayla's Favorite Wedding Vendors | Bella Vie Venue & Event Center

Bella Vie Venue & Event Center, one of Lubbock's newest wedding venues, is literally a photographer's dream. I could shoot hundreds of weddings here and not get tired of it. I believe that this venue is so successful and so beautiful for one main reason: the owner is a photographer herself (I'm fairly certain that every venue would be a lot prettier if they would consult a photographer in the design process but that's just my opinion).
