Averye and Kaden are the type of clients that make my job way too easy. They’ve been together a long time and they are SO natural together and unbelievably photogenic. I also love how adventurous they are. It was pouring down rain the entire day before their engagement session and I called Kaden to see if he wanted to reschedule and we all decided to go through with it. I am so glad that we did because we would have missed out on the most beautiful light otherwise (see the last photos). They also convinced me to go to one last spot after shooting in the canyon and it resulted in some of my favorite photos I’ve ever taken.
Read MoreI love sweet young families! The Kirkland’s mainly booked this photo session for their youngest, Arabella, to get some photos to celebrate her first year of life but of course, I took photos of the whole family. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how some personality traits are so ingrained in us and how they become apparent from a very early age. I’m not trying to toot my own horn here but I think I was able to capture the personalities of the Kirklands’ kids. Arabella was sweet, a little shy at first, Caleb was the entertainer of the group, and oldest Abigail was patient and confident. I hope I gave this sweet family good memories to look back on and remember this time of their lives.
Read MoreMikah has one of the best “soft smiles” I’ve ever seen and her hair is A-MAZING. I often find myself jealous of my seniors and that was the case with Mikah. Her session in Palo Duro Canyon was so much fun and I ended up with a funny story to tell:
Read MoreWhen Kelsey told me that she wanted to take her bridals in Palo Duro Canyon, I told her that she was brave! But I was excited because despite the dirtiness that can sometimes come with the canyon, it is oh-so-beautiful for bridal pictures. Kelsey sure can rock those fierce, serious looks and she has a beautiful smile. Talk about a win-win :) I so enjoyed her bridal session, even when, in typical Texas Panhandle fashion, a dirt storm came in and cut it short. But of course I took advantage of that moment to give Kelsey some really unique photos.
Read MoreThese two came all the way from South Korea to take pictures with me! Just kidding. Tony is here doing his postdoctoral research in Amarillo and he brought along his lovely fiance. They will be getting married this December back home in South Korea and though I sadly don't get to photograph it, I loved taking their engagement photos in Palo Duro Canyon. I asked them what the landscape in South Korea is like and they told me it is mainly trees and mountains. Our little corner of Texas is drastically different from that so I told them their engagement photos are going to look like they were taken on Mars. I loved getting to meet these two and I wish them nothing but happiness!
Read MoreEmily and Jeremy are a couple of those clients that have become friends to Mason and I (Mason was their DJ and they actually found him before me). Throughout their whole wedding planning process with us, they were so gracious and so inviting. Their wedding did not feel like work to us - it felt like a fun party with friends. Jeremy even invited me to stay longer and I wish I could have!
Read MoreOne of the most beautiful parts of Kelli and Bradley's wedding day came right before the ceremony. The bride and groom had yet to see each other and they decided to pray not only with each other but also with their parents flanking them on the sides, holding their hands. It was a beautiful expression of the love and support that their parents have given them so far and will continue to give them throughout their married life. It was wonderful to know that Kelli and Bradley have such good examples of Godly marriages to look to.
Read MoreI owe a lot to this girl right here. When I was just starting my photography business, after I had only shot one wedding, she recommended me to one of her friends that was getting married. And then that friend recommended me to another girl. Bethany continued telling her friends about me and my business continued to grow. I honestly don't think I would be where I am today without her evangelism.
Read MoreThis little cutie is about to turn 2 years old and her parents celebrated with a summertime, garden photo session. I simply cannot get over her darling little pink overalls and her pigtails! She likes flowers, balloons (except when they fly away), puppies, and holding mom and dad's hands. She's adorable.
Read MoreHigh school sweethearts Cassie and Calum got married in their home church in Perryton, Texas - a place that is near and dear to their hearts. These two have been together a long time and it’s clear that they are best friends. They are at peace together. Their wedding at the First Baptist Church of Perryton was filled with personal touches and beautiful flowers. It was a special moment when Cassie and Calum decided to recite handwritten vows to each other before their ceremony. Without a crowd watching, they expressed their love to one another. Then, they got married among their family and friends.
Read MoreAmy was the most gorgeous, peaceful bride at her wedding this July. I love that. She truly enjoyed her wedding day without worrying about the stuff that doesn't matter. She danced with her new husband Trevor and only cared about getting married and being with him. It was beautiful and a good reminder for me to relax and remember what a wedding day is all about.
Read MoreTaryn and Joey's wedding was traditionally classic and beautiful while being totally fun at the same time. Their ceremony took place in Amarillo's First Presbyterian Church - one of the most beautiful places to get married. The couple had their first look in the green courtyard and then said "I do" in the elegant sanctuary. Afterward they took off in a classic car and made their way to the Amarillo Country Club where they danced and had so much fun until their sparkler send off.
