I have talked very little about my background prior to becoming a photographer and living in Amarillo, Texas. I am originally from a tiny town of 1000 people called Highland up in the Northeast corner of Kansas. In Highland, you are surrounded on all sides by corn and soybeans. It is the definition of rural. In fact, I never even lived in a town until I went to college - I grew up in the country a couple miles outside of town. My husband, Mason, says that I grew up on a farm.Read More
I'm soooooo excited because Kith & Kin, an Amarillo company that I often do commercial photography for, was featured on the Etsy blog this week! Kith & Kin is made up of Sarah, who makes canvas bags and her husband Peter, who makes fine furniture. These two crafty people sell a lot of their products on Etsy so the website decide to tell their story. I had the opportunity to take some photos of Sarah in her element, creating her unique bags. I'm pretty pumped to have some of my photos published on Etsy! I love working for this couple and I'm happy that their hard work is being recognized. I have shot product photos before for Amarillo-based furniture company Kith and Kin and I was stoked when owner Peter asked me to come back to photograph this black walnut credenza in his shop.
Who knew you could figure out so many different angles and ways to style one piece of furniture. But with Kith and Kin's pieces, the possibilities are endless. If you want to read more about their company you can check out this blog and this blog. In addition to handmade, well-designed furniture, they also make some stellar bags.

I'm suuuuuuper excited to show you this set of photos because it's been a long time coming! Peter of Kith & Kin in Amarillo, Texas contacted me last May (I think) about taking photos of his beautiful furniture. You might remember a couple of months ago when I blogged about these handmade bags. Well, they are made by Peter's wife, Sarah. They call themselves a "Family of Makers," and that they are! The day finally arrived in November that I could go to Peter's shop and photograph a couple of his handmade, one of a kind pieces.Read More
Occasionally a project comes along that I get unbelievably excited about. A few months ago, Peter Clark of Kith & Kin emailed me about doing some commercial photography for he and his wife Sarah's company. They call themselves a "Family of Makers" and they are a local Amarillo, TX business. He creates the most unique furniture I have ever seen and she creates bags that are works of art. I was stoked to say the least. However, a few months passed and nothing came to fruition.Read More
