The Green Family | Vivid Family Photos at Amarillo Botanical Gardens

I’ll be honest. I was a little nervous when Brittney, a professional photographer here in Amarillo, asked me to take her family photos. I always get nervous when I’m shooting for other pros! But once I started the session at the Amarillo Botanical Gardens I was totally at ease because her family is so much fun! First, her son is a definitely a photographer’s kid so that made things easy. Second, her family has a natural way of interacting with each other that makes those candid shots a breeze. I barely had to do a thing to bring their personalities out in the pictures. It seemed more like a fun evening than it felt like work to me.

The Dolezol Family | Fall Family Pictures in the Park

About five years ago, when I was just starting my photography business, I asked the Dolezol family if I could take their pictures for practice. They graciously accepted my offer and all these years later, I got to take their family pictures again. It’s kind of unbelievable how much their kids have grown and how much I’ve been through as a photographer in that span of time.

The Epp's | 6 Month Pictures in the Studio

What a cutie! The Epp’s stopped by my studio for a quick session with their 6 month old! I think 6 months is where things really start to get fun. That’s when babies start to sit up, they smile and laugh a lot, and they may even start crawling! Even though Lincoln had just woken up from his nap, he was super happy and adorable.

The Clark's | Sunny and Bright Family Photos in Palo Duro Canyon

This was my second time taking pictures of the Clark Family and I think these girls just keep getting more and more pretty! I love how vibrant and colorful their outfits are because they really pop against the canyon’s landscape. The Clarks’s (who were only in Amarillo for a little while for Steve to finish his degree) are now headed to New Mexico for a new job. I’m sad I won’t get to take their pictures again but I wish them the best in their new adventure!

The Forrest Family | Lighthearted Summertime Family Photos in Canyon

You know what I love about three year olds? We’re on their time, their schedule, and they honestly run the photo session - which makes my job easy! Little Kennedy here is so spirited and precocious. The best photos that we got (in my opinion) are the ones where her sunny personality shines through. I love the way she hugs her mom and laughs with her dad. I feel like those are the photos that mom and dad are going to look back on and remember what she was like during this time. It’s easy to forget how your babies were even a month ago. I think pictures can help jog those memories more than anything else.

The Epp's | Cozy Family Pictures at Home

I was so glad to see the Epp family again and this time they have a new addition! Lincoln was born a few months ago and there’s no better place for family pictures at his age than at home. It’s where babies are most comfortable and mom and dad are most at ease. It’s just good :) The lovely natural light and adorable nursery doesn’t hurt either!

The Hall Family | Extended Family Photos in Palo Duro Canyon

Sometimes big family photography sessions can get me all jittery inside but the Hall family put me at ease! They came all the way from Utah for their eldest son Michael's graduation from medical school at Texas Tech and they figured it would be the perfect time to update their family photos since they have a few new members! A couple of new babies and a couple of new spouses joined their family in the past year :)

The Welch Family | Extended Family Photos in Palo Duro Canyon

I love this family! I took their photos last year back in July and I was so happy to get to see them again. They have been through a lot in the past year but they all seem to be doing wonderful. It is a huge joy of mine to be able to capture all of the moments in a family’s life. Jade and her husband Michael have spent the better part of the past few years apart because he is in the Marines but he is about to get out so they wanted some extra photos of just the two of them in his dress blues. It was special and I’m excited for the next chapter in their lives!

Laura, Cody, & Georgia | Engagement and Family Photos in Palo Duro Canyon

I took pictures of Georgia when she turned three a couple of years ago and I was so happy to meet up with Laura and her fiance Cody again for engagement/family pictures in Palo Duro Canyon. I loved watching Cody and Georgia together and all of the inside jokes they have developed. She had on the cutest little yellow dress and he kept calling her his “mustard seed,” which she thought was awfully funny. They are such a sweet family and I’m so happy for this next chapter in their lives.

Romriell Family | Palo Duro Canyon Family Pictures

Wow, FIVE siblings! I’m sure the Romriell’s get that reaction a lot but that’s because it’s so unique to have such a big family. Also, it should be noted that these kids were so well behaved. That’s the best gift a client can give a photographer! They were respectful, smart, and they made my job easy. The Romriell’s were an absolute blast!

Anu + Tarun | Husband and Wife Photos in Palo Duro Canyon

These two have been married for a few years and they wanted a session with just the two of them. I love that :) Even after having a child, their relationship is so important to them and they wanted to celebrate it. I had tons of fun with them in Palo Duro Canyon and I hope I get to see them again one day because it was one of those photo sessions that I felt extremely fulfilled afterward.

Sydney | Palo Duro Canyon Maternity Photos

What a pretty mom-to-be. Sydney had a baby calf themed baby shower a few weeks prior to her photo session so she brought along some of the cute mementos from the day: a cow pacifier, an ear tag with her daughter’s name and due date on it, and the most adorable baby moccasins. She also brought a baby blanket which I had her wrap around her shoulders for some of the photos on the rim of canyon. It’s like she’s infusing her love into the blanket so when her daughter is born she will still feel safe and warm <3
