When it comes to engagement photography sessions, there are few places that can match the charm and character of downtown Amarillo, Texas. Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing Alix and Nathan in this vibrant city, and we had so much fun together!

We started the session by exploring the downtown area, taking advantage of the beautiful architecture and lively atmosphere. The couple was dressed impeccably, with Nathan in a classic suit and Alix in a stunning dress that perfectly complemented the downtown vibes.

As we moved through the streets, we captured a variety of candid and posed shots, each one showcasing the couple's love and affection for each other. From playful moments to intimate embraces, the images captured the joy and excitement of this special time in their lives.

Have you ever seen such an adorable couple!? These two dressed up so perfectly for their engagement photos in downtown Amarillo. He wore a classic blazer that complimented her sleek, white dress so wonderfully. We explored downtown for a little bit and even snuck up to the Barfield Hotel’s balcony for some gorgeous shots with the Amarillo skyline in the background.

Then, they changed to more casual and fun outfits and I suggested we drive to another location nearby that I had scouted the day before. It worked out so well because we had the best springtime day along with the blooming trees in the background. They were so natural together for the whole engagement session, but I feel like Sydney and Logan really came alive at that point!

I can’t wait for their wedding at the Resplendent Garden in Amarillo this summer!

We started this engagement photography session at the amazing Barfield Hotel in Amarillo, Texas. This was Alexis and Ben’s idea and I absolutely loved it! It has the prettiest Art Deco vibes that I am totally in love with. After exploring the hotel and then a little bit of Downtown Amarillo, we headed out to Palo Duro Canyon for some more fun, casual pictures. Alexis and Ben are going to be getting ready at the Barfield for their wedding later this fall and then getting married across the street at the Amarillo Club. I can’t wait!

Whenever I get the chance to take pictures at River Falls, you can bet I’m excited! It’s a rare treat. Lisa and Les have friends that live there so they were able to take us around in their truck. We started at Devil’s Kitchen - one of the coolest rock formations in the Texas Panhandle. If you look past the name, it’s quite the romantic spot. These two! Wow. I have all the heart eyes for Kalyn and Connor. They were so fun to meet and work with for their engagement pictures in Palo Duro Canyon this fall. Not only are they adorable together, but they are so comfortable and sweet with one another. When you’re pretty sure your clients are actually professional models….

That’s definitely how I felt while taking pictures of Kyler and Talyn. They were so natural together. After I posed them and told them what to do, they would just relax and be in the moment. Relaxation and naturalness vs. stiffness TOTALLY shows up in photos and I can do my best to make people feel comfortable but my clients have to meet me halfway. It matters a lot. Kyler and Talyn were amazing at this. They simply had fun and didn’t worry that there was a camera in front of them. That’s the only way to get great photos.
